The boys started to look like hippies so we took them to get their hair cut. Simon and Max initially protested loudly but eventually played along nicely. The end result – stunningly handsome
On the way to the Hairbomb Salon
Max took a ride on Papa’s arm
And after some tears Simon was ready for Nina

The rascals in the morning
Snuggling in a blanket after a bath is so much fun and Simon and Max agree.
It indeed snowed today and it was the first opportunity for Simon and Max to see and experience the big white beauty. So after their nap we bundled them up and Sara and I took them for a walk. It hadn’t snowed a ton but enough to get a feel.
The boys looking around in Hanes Park
Simon loved it
Max was a bit more apprehensive
They walked with Sara across the bridge
Simon conquered the snowy steps
And Max also got to the top
Afterwards it was time for warm hot chocolate

It was a very busy time for the boys at Christmas time and now we finally have time to update this blog.
We drove to Columbia, SC a few days before Christmas and stopped at a Cracker Barrel for lunch
Followed later by a very messy and fun dinner at GiCi’s house
One on one time with GiCi
Our annual Christmas card was meanwhile well received
One of the boys tried to taste this mandarin
The anticipation was big, but both boys were pretty much hands off until told otherwise
But finally the big unveiling at GiCi’s house
So much joy and so many toys
The blanket from Granddaddy and Dorothy found Simon well
Hard at work
Everybody was busy
A bit later at Opa and Mimi’s house a bit of peace and quiet while the boys were napping and adults exchanged gifts.
But before too long, more gifts for the boys. Including the very popular suitcases from Opa and Mimi.
We also went to the zoo the day after Christmas
Lots to see and explore
Wow, they are big
Good times with the giraffes
Santa also visited the boys right in the new year and brought them a kitchen
And the kitchen was well received the next morning
Simon is quite the wizard with the knife and is very proud of his slicing skills.
