Today the boys had a small birthday celebration in school and it was very cute as the teachers combined the classes of Simon and Max outside right after their lunch at 11. Sara had made done very delicious strawberry / coconut cupcakes and they were ultra delicious.
When we walked in at 11:15 Max’s class was just finishing lunch.
Soon enough everyone was gathered outside.
Here is one of the birthday boys
Cup cakes for everyone. Here Noah is ready to enjoy his.
Oh yes, these cupcakes are yummy
Kenny is one of Simon’s teachers
The kids were very well behaved and the sun came out too.
Singing Happy Birthday, and Max wanted to have nothing to do with a birthday hat.
It was the 2nd birthday for Simon and Max today and we had a little shindig for them. The boys were very cute all day and seemed excited about their birthday.
A small banner to make sure no one forgot
We had a few cupcakes and other snacks ready
Ready to blow out the candles.
The crowd was looking on
All in with the second cupcake
Max was also eager
Simon’s friend Noah was there too
Plus it was great to have Opa and Mimi, Grandmama Georgia, GiCi and Monica, Greg and Anna and other friends and neighbors.
This past Sunday we went with the boys to a pumpkin patch somewhere way out in the country for an AuPairCare event and thus Mama, Papa, Sara and the boys packed up to drive an hour to look for the great pumpkin and Charlie Brown.
Neither boy really wanted to pose for photos
Even with Mama there
The giant straw tractor was a big hit
Max though mostly wanted to go up and down
There were of course pumpkins
But it was mostly fun to pick them up and put them down
There were animals too and we got to see calfs getting bottle fed
Plus there were rides offered
Yeah, this is fun
Sara went along for the ride too
Exploring a straw cabin
Two for me, none for you
Enjoy even more images from our recent trip to Hawaii. We can’t add all but you will get an idea.
A snack on the balcony / lanai
Up close with turtles
Max was interested
Simon wanted to go home
Papa caught the escapee
Bathtub time with mama
Story time is always popular
But Simon also likes books by himself
Eating Kitiwawa in Hawi
Checking out King Kamehameha
Another day closer to our rented house. Near Magic Sands.
Hard at work making bubbles
They got to see Elmo briefly now that they are almost 2
Bucket play was also popular
But very tiring
The flights home were a big sleep fest for the boys too
This is the second time for Simon and Max to be in Kona, Hawaii for the Ironman World Championships and some vacation. But this time the boys are much more aware of their surroundings and they both like to say Hawaii and Aloha.
Hanging out on race day after the nap
High fives from Simon in a Kona Restaurant
Max has been walking a lot but that also means an occasional tumble.
The whole family at the pier in Kona – this is where the Ironman athletes get in the water
Worn out little warriors
Mama running along Alii Drive with the boys
Having fun before bedtime – thanks to Mama making faces
The other morning Max got to hang out with Papa and the 2 men went to Cagney’s Restaurant.
Checking out the lid of the cup
It does indeed look like a cup
Finally the food
After a new haircut yesterday Simon checked out the hair salon and discovered a tall mirror.
